Been Crazy Busy around here!

I am still here. Been busy getting ready for the County Fair, family, music lessons and now soccer camp for the High School girls. Hopefully, soon,  I can post some pics of the quilts the kids have been working so hard on. 

The kids got their sports physicals completed so they play sports in middle school and high school this upcoming year. 

I have several quilts that need binding. Maybe...just maybe...I can get around to finishing them this week so that I can add some to my etsy shop and donate others to the childrens hospital. 

I have been working daily on our pond too. Planting fern/trees/seed, stabilizing the banks with hay, pulling weeds, etc. The good thing...we have gotten some quick, torrential downpours the past couple of days, that added 3 inches to our half acre pond! Sure makes weed pulling easy!

Why does there never seem to be enough time in the day to do everything?!?!

Update...God is so good!

Cheryl...one month post accident. 


It was the night of the 30th of December..and they were traveling home from Salt Lake City after a day of shopping. Bryson and the kids were involved in a vehicle accident when he hit a large rogue sheep with the front passenger tire. It lodged in the wheel well and caused him to lose control of our van and ultimately to overturn it in the desert.  It was 30 degrees below zero and on a lonely highway. Fortunately, a car came upon them within minutes of the accident and the driver was able to assist. The kids all appeared to be okay upon initial inspection, except for Cheryl. She had been cut badly across her forehead and her eyebrow and her eye had swelled shut. 


He managed to keep the family together and they all were transported to Salt Lake Children's Primary Hospital. The kids were all checked out and cleared of injuries requiring medical assistance. Obviously cut, bruised, scraped and emotionally upset...but okay none the less. Cheryl required 50 stitches down to the bone and the plastic surgeon did a great job repairing her eyebrow and forehead area. She was released on New Year's Day after extensive testing to her eye. 


So far, her eye seems to be responding and healing well. A slight blurred vision still...but she is looking good! 


Many Thank You's to Ron, the driver who stopped to assist, Scott, the paramedic who got the family to the hospital and the nursing staff and doctors at the hospital for taking care of our family. 

I was away in New Orleans at the time of the accident. My Grandmother had passed away and I was at her funeral. I met up with Bryson and the kids a few days after the accident and boy, was I sure glad to be home. They were happy to see me too!


We all give God the glory and the thanks for the outcome of which could have been a tragedy for our family. God is good! He has a plan for my family and He had this accident as something that we must all go through. Praises to Him! 

We are slow moving this 2011...

We have been very busy...not much sewing, quilting or anything...other than shopping for a van! 


Narrowing down what it is we want and need. 


Hopefully...soon I can post about what has been happening here on our home front!

I am headed to New Orleans for my Grandma's funeral...so won't be around for a few days. I will use this time to catch up with family I haven't seen in nearly 15 years.

Grocery Tote

I bought a fried chicken dinner complete with potato salad and rolls.  Well, Kirt was obviously more interested in something else. 


It is not everyday that your son fits in a chicken dinner tote! 

Tadpole Buddies!

I couldn't resist posting this picture of my kids! 


This duo gets along really well. Even though they are brother and sister...and just over 3 years apart...they always seem to enjoy each other's company. 


Today, Grandpa took them out to the hills...and they found lots to do! They climbed, hiked, viewed the landscape and enjoyed being together! These two are seldom bored! 


                  I love them both...bunches.

Some Cutie Patootie Tadpoles!

What cuties! Getting ready for Valentine's Day fun.

Introducing my Tadpoles!

Some of you have heard me mention my tadpoles...and may have even seen pictures of them. While others of you may be family or friends.

I think it is time that I introduce them here...in birth order. That makes this easier for me. Remember in my profile that I said there were 7 of them!!

Taylor - female, involved in Drama Club, plays basketball and softball and going to start track/field this year. Loves to read and write. Liked by all, fun personality, great all around young lady.

Madeline -  female, we call her Mad for short, very aggressive in sports i.e. basketball and softball. She loves to draw. Animals people you name it. She should illustrate her sister Taylor's writings! Going to be a future quilter! (Well, one can always hope.) 

Sven - male, likes basketball and baseball and anything to do with dirtbikes/atv's...just ask his best friend whose name rhymes with his...he owns a dirtbike and a four-wheeler...we do not!!

Eric - male, loves his mother. He is so sweet most times. He is liked by everybody in school...especially the girls! He gets invited to every girl's birthday party...and he goes. He loves the attention. he also plays basketball and baseball. He is a lefty...and he pitches Minor League ball.

Devin - female, a blondie. She is fun-loving. Loves to do cartwheels...everywhere! She can do them off the bed, against a wall, do one and then land in the splits. She is quite the girl. She also loves to read.

Cheryl - female, button-nosed beauty, she is a great big sis to her youngest brother. They play all day long together. She wants to go to school...very badly...and she will in the Fall. She loves to dress up. She has a baby doll and a stuffed dog that she pushes around in their stroller.

Kirt - male, looks just like Eric in every way. Loves the movie 'Cars'. Wants to watch it over and over again. (No, we don't let him watch it continually.)  He is happy dressing up with his older sis and wearing a pink Barbie dress or bathing suit depending on the time of day. He also is the keeper of our dog, Sardi. Kirt feeds him by hand...and likes to let him in the house to play.

AND...the good looking guy behind the sunglasses in the photo is my sweet husband Bryson. He is into photography about as bad as I am into quilting! And...we are the best of friends. We work together daily and it takes both of us to raise our large family. I love him very much!
