LADYCAT SOCCER is HEADED to STATE!!!!!


After a grueling double overtime game at Divisions...a game that lasted nearly 110 minutes (versus the usual 80)...our girls came out on top. Seated #3 in the North...we are headed to the State Championship this Friday night.  

After nearly 3 months...I finally got back to quilting!

Black/Pink/Gray...Single Irish Chain quilt. 


Freehand roses with leaves in the large open areas... 

Smaller roses and leaves in the embroidered area of the quilt. 


Terry Twists in the double nine patches.


Not too bad since I haven't touched my machine for nearly 3 months. 














I am still coaching...although Baseball 11/12 yr old All Stars this time. We are headed to Tournament. The boy have worked hard. Let's hope they can play well and have fun while doing it!  

Busy with Ball!

Baseball/Softball season has begun...well practices, anyways. Tomorrow is the official opening day! 


I am coaching 2 teams and assisting with a third team. Gotta love the sport! 

Sven’s Bike!

About one month ago, Sven stripped his bike of all it’s parts, and sanded it down to bare metal. He then primed it and repainted it. He asked Dad to help with the reassembly and voila…a new bike!

We are so proud of him. He tackled a huge project and took it to completion. Too bad the weather is bad today…thunderstorms all around. He sooo badly wanted to go for a ride and show off his hard work!

blue and white quilt on the frame...PLUS an update

There is a story behind this quilt...let me start with it if you may.

Madeline made All Stars as well as Sven and Eric. However, since there are no District or State Tournaments...we were looking at going to Regionals...in Vancouver Washington. Now, it looks as though too many parents are not wanting to commit to traveling so far for a couple of softball games. Let me say..we are not those parents. We were willing to travel!

Well, I made this quilt in anticipation of raffling it off to help raise funds for the team. Now, I might just sell it and donate a portion of the proceeds to the local Little League for future All-Star teams.

Anyway, I thought I would share just a peek of the quilting on this scrappy quilt. As my friend Shannon likes to say...'whatcha think?'

All the quilting is freehand. I am using a variagated blue thread for the blue areas and a cream thread in the white. I try not to do alot of stippling...but thought it looked 'fitting' on this quilt. ;0)

I hope to finish it within a day or two. I WILL post pictures when it is done!


UPDATE: The White Pine All-Star 9-10 year old boys played very well in Caliente. They owned the scoreboard for the first 3 innings of both of their games. However, sadly I must say, they did lose both games. I was very proud of the boys as a team as they played well. The heat was a contributing factor in their losses...as well as the fact the other teams had some awesome plays that hurt us. Sven assisted in at least 8 outs, and Eric 5 in the two days of play. My boys did great. This Mama is very proud of them both!

They were sad to be eliminated from Tournament...but thankful for the opportunity. They have still not put their ball gear away. They throw ball every day and can't wait for next season.

White Pine All-Stars - Tournament in Caliente NV

My family is soon headed to Caliente NV for the 9-10 year District All-Star Baseball Tournament. Both Sven and Eric made the team...and I am the Assistant Coach. 11 boys are on our team...and we are all excited for the opportunity.

I will post pictures of the team in complete uniform soon...but here we are at the first practice...just 6 days ago! Not much time to prepare...but we are what we are...and we are going with an attitude to WIN!

GO WHITE PINE ALL-STARS!!

Not much time for quilting as...baseball/softball keep us busy!

Not that this is a bad thing...just saying...we are busy every night of the week...and then again on Saturdays.

I took over coaching Devin's minor league girl's softball team...the Bombers, just one week ago when the coach didn't show for a game.

I am the assistant coach for Madeline and Taylor's major league girl's softball team...the Shockers.

AND...I help out where needed for Sven and Eric's major league boy's baseball team...the Tigers!

Between Dad and I, we also help to keep Sven's blood sugar under control so he can play!

As if that wasn't enough...I help out wherever else I am needed when it comes to Little League.  I keep book, help with line ups, and throw ball with any kid that will let me. I also bandage knees and provide hugs when a player feels sad or upset...usually the girls. The boys only like knuckles and high fives. :0) 

Track Meet in Tonopah Nevada

Today, Taylor ran the 800m and 1600m races and did exceptionally well. We are so proud of her.



She pulled a close 2nd place in the 800 and a whopping 1st in the 1600...that is one mile if you didn't know! 



Nobody around in the 1600...she blew the competition away!

Her coach was really proud too as Taylor went into a great sprint for the last 200+ meters!

This is Taylor, I just want to thank my parents who are my supporters & friends. Running long distance kills me but what keeps me going is the fact that I CAN do it. THANKS!

CORRECTION:  Taylor placed 1st in the 800m race as well. The girl that she was inches behind is an 8th grader. Taylor is in 7th...so that made her place 1st! AND...she has decided that she will run again in the 1600...it wasn't all that hard.

Little League Breakfast

How much money can be raised in 45 minutes for the Little League program??

$500...that's how much! Just send 4 kids into a convention center filled with car enthusiasts and racers...who might so happen to be hungry at 7 am tomorrow morning. Who can resist adorable kids dressed in uniform asking them to buy a ticket?

But, then I am biased..they were my kids!

Superbowl XLIV...New Orleans Saints...WIN

31-17 against the Indianapolis Colts!

What an amazing game! I was jumping up and down and screaming like a banshee when they WON! Go Saints! You did it.

Originally being from New Orleans..and still having family there...I have never forgotten my roots. The Saints have always BEEN and will always BE...MY TEAM!!!

QB Drew Brees and the entire Saints team and Coach Sean Peyton are a fabulous team and played well.

The Glory Bound and Who Dat? Saints made me proud. What a fabulous birthday gift too. The best one yet! Even if it is only my Birthday Season.

Go Saints! YOU DONE GOOD!!
